Family and Friends
They mean well, really. But this is your wedding cake, the finale of a long day and usually the highlight of the evening’s festivities. Please don’t let a hobbyist attempt to create your cake or a friend who has taken a “few classes” in cake decorating. Let the professionals handle this task and don’t worry about anything. We are trained to know what to do if the cake “leans.” However, a good decorator will not let the cake leave the store if it is leaning! We know what to do if the border gets ruined. I even bring a level with me to test the table that the cake will be placed on to make sure I’m starting at zero. I am only as good as the photographs show. I always give myself at least two hours prior to your start time to set up the wedding cake so that I may make any last minute adjustments necessary to make it perfect. Your friend/family will be in a hurry to get it done in time to attend your wedding and then to get to the reception. They won’t think about how level the table is or isn’t nor will they bring an extra cake box for your anniversary cake to be placed in when the wedding cake is disassembled for cutting…like I do. I also provide instructions on how to freeze and thaw it one year later.
Please let the professionals take care of your wedding cake needs. Your friends and family are there to help you celebrate your special day. They are not there to work. That’s why you pay me.
